The surge of modernization and globalization has been posing a threat of cultural extinction of our rich heritage. The cultural depletion has led to, amongst many other significant losses, an overwhelming lack of awareness of our cultural music and arts heritage, especially amongst the youth populace in our country.
Yet, there is a sign of hope and sunshine, with the stalwart efforts of ART REVIVAL & PERPETUATION by a few valuable ‘connoisseurs’ in our society. They are citizens of this wonderful nation like us, they have held significant careers, in our view, made a positive and progressive impact wherever they have been and whichever portfolio they have undertaken. ANANYA salutes and applauds the commendable efforts, views and initiatives of these highly credible citizens of our society.
How can one revive art and art forms? Is it by encouraging senior artists, celebrating legends, creating platforms for youth, regenerating dying art forms, reviving literature, archiving our classical past or creating Facebook selfies? It could be all of this and more…While most people assign the responsibility to organizations, NGOS and government departments to undertake and execute this colossal task, none of the efforts will be successful or even possible in a lifetime unless each one of us imbibe and make an effort to sustain and perpetuate art, music and culture within our homes and societies.
As an organization which has been on this path for years, we believe it is equally important to showcase the work, efforts and steps taken by some of our art lovers and connoisseurs, either representing organizations or as cultural ambassadors or even in their individual capacities. The work and accomplishment has been wonderful while also achieving milestones in its own path. The reward is always there for us to see and experience.
ANANYA salutes and recognizes all such efforts and endeavor to promote and perpetuate the cause of art. The series begins with an introduction and discussion with DR CHIRANJIV SINGH, retd. IAS OFFICER and former Ambassador of India to UNESCO in Paris, on aspect related to art perpetuation and dissemination in today’s ‘fast paced’ society.
