A step towards homogenization of ‘access,’ and ‘opportunity’ for rural children in Karnataka.
Overview
Our pet project UDAAN aims to impact rural children, aged 7–15 and help them with their challenges including Spoken English, Computer Literacy, Soft Skills Development and Personality Augmentation. UDAAN has to fly with technology-wings and a strong foundation, laid by our years of corporate experience, access to specialists and service providers. We flew kites with over 30+ super enthu-kids, and are absolutely, not surprised, that we were able to garner significant support, encouragement from a batch of like-minded friends, aka, donors and volunteers. We are of course, grateful, for it is in their support that the UDAAN or FLIGHT can happen.
Sustainable & Inclusive Development
We launched the program with a conscious effort to create sustainable access for rural children across a range of skills they will need to farm an exciting future for themselves. Over the next four quarters (somehow, the corporate lingo is embedded :-), we have designed the program to bring in experts and launch initiatives in areas that they need attention. Needless to say, it is in the space of communication and up/cross-skilling.
A moment of Epiphany
As UDAAN takes flight, we need more support, more strength to impact deeper and farther. We have the faith that it is coming. In such time, we have been happy to discover many elemental truths in rustic tones. The fatigue is gone, the fervor is high, as we make a promise to transform, ourselves, not them.
